A wedding reception is your gift to your friends and family who supported you in your courtship and who will continue to support you in your life together. Creating a
memorable, unique, romantic and fun wedding reception is paramount. The catch is balancing the amount of each ingredient above to achieve the right "reception" recipe. As an example, if having fun is most important, you may consider a bit an entertainer who is more interactive.
Ultimately the design of your reception is in your hands. I would suggest setting aside 90 minutes on a Thursday evening to attend my "Creating the Perfect Wedding Reception" workshop. It's designed to help you define and build a spectacular night to remember. As an example, here's a sneak peak at some of the evenings topics:
- The "memorable" Wedding Reception: Creating a memorable event can be a challenge. Think back to the last few weddings you attended. Did you see or experience something that was memorable? How about creating a special moment for you and your fiance during the grand entrance where he reaches for the microphone, takes your hand and asks you to dance with him for the first time as his wife?
- The "unique" Wedding Reception: How did you meet, is it theme worthy? Did you meet on an airplane, baseball game? Sometimes integrating simple themes during your wedding reception can create that special unique feeling that your guests love. How about serving your favorite food as an appetizer? Would serving an entree from your favorite Kansas City Barbeque restaurant do the trick?
- The "romantic" Wedding Reception: This ones tough. Romance is so hard to fake. It has to come from the heart. Do you remember a wedding reception where you just couldn't help from shedding just one little tear? Maybe it's planning on an Anniversary dance or having all of the Fathers in the room join in during your dance with dad?
- The "fun" Wedding Reception: Fun is probably the easiest to achieve, but can backfire quickly. Other DJ's rely on blow-up guitars and group dances to start the fun. I can offer you simple, non-cheesy ways to get your guests involved and keep them having fun all night long.
